The monthly market presented by the Arts Council of New Orleans features
paintings, photography, jewelry, and other exciting pieces from the
region's best artisans. In the Kids Tent- Storyteller Mama Saba at
10:30, African Arts & Crafts for the rest of the day. Live music by
Bamboula 2000 drum troupe at 1:00 pm and surprise guest at 2:30 pm. A
variety of food vendors.

Tipitina's is hosting an 80th birthday celebration for Fats Domino
with a little help from his piano-playing friends:
Randy Newman and Dr. John are co-headlining the show.
Domino is expected to make a "special appearance,"
which means he might, if the spirit moves him,
take a turn at the piano for a song or two.
Or maybe he'll just wave.
Tickets are $75, available at www.tipitinas.com. Proceeds
benefit the nonprofit Tipitina's Foundation.

The Alternative Media Expo is in its sixth installment and features over 85 exhibitors with 'zines, comics, photography, t-shirts, web design, films, blogs and other media.
What is the Expo? It's an event that's much like a trade show and set up like a comic convention--exhibitors show everything from 'zines and comics to handmade clothing, jewelry and crafts to photography, paintings, t-shirts and films.
